More great news for veterans as breakfast club is launched in Sully this Saturday

By GEM Staff Reporter in Local People

HARD on the heels of Vale Armed Forces’ veterans getting a drop-in centre at Barry Athletic Club, Sully Sports and Social Club has agreed to a veterans’ breakfast club on Saturday mornings.

It is due to start this Saturday, February 4 and will run from 9am until 12 noon every Saturday.

Local veteran, Anthony Fitzpatrick, explained: “There are other breakfast clubs such as the one in Cardiff, but we wanted one locally so people don’t have to travel 10 to 15 miles.

“The inaugural day will be held on February 4 when local MP Alun Cairns will open it.

“All veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces are welcome. There are no commitments or subs.

“Our ethos is mutual support. It will be a great place to meet like minded people for support, chat and banter – not forgetting a great breakfast!

“The group is ran by veterans for veterans in the Vale. Turn up on Saturday mornings and you will be made welcome.”
