Highways respond to concern over Dinas Powys ‘build-out’

By Tim Chapman in Local People

A motorist struck the new ‘build out’ on Cross Common Road in Dinas Powys.

The ‘build out’ is on the stretch of road leading from the entrance to Hebron Hall up to the newly built junction. It slows traffic.

Plaid Councillor Chris Franks said, “I do hope no one was hurt. The Vale Highways staff have been alerted to the incident. I suppose that people are not expecting a change in the road layout.

“It appears that there was a lack of cones indicating the build out. There is a slight rise in the road and the build out is in a dip so visibility might not be perfect.

“Probably once the work is completed and people become used to the layout everything will be fine. In the meantime we all have to take care.

“The Highways staff have assured me that they are investigating the situation and will make any necessary improvements to the warning signs and place additional bollards if appropriate.”
