Llantwit Major Comprehensive’s English department recently celebrated the achievement of year-7 pupils by holding a highly-successful homework project fair.
The projects, which saw pupils having to meet specific, detailed criteria stretched them in all areas, whether it was writing and research skills, artistic presentation or just pure originality.
For the first time, parents and family members were invited to see the projects and we were so pleased to see so many family members visit the school to celebrate year 7’s success!
The projects allowed pupils to create their own fairytale prince or princess, create a case study into what it meant to be royalty in today’s society and link it to their current scheme of work on traditional tales.
Hope Shakespeare’s (an appropriate surname!) efforts were celebrated by winning first prize as her project was not only researched in detail, it was also presented in a beautiful, creative presentation box that had hidden sections for you to find.
In second and third place were Dylan James and Sean McLoughlin, who both impressed the English department with the originality and precision of their presentation but also their well-researched and technically accurate written work.
Well done year 7; we are looking forward to seeing more fantastic homework projects at future fairs!
