Bridgend father and daughter taking on the London Marathon

By GEM Staff Reporter in Charity

Bridgend business owner, Steve Richmond of Steve Richmond Carpet, is running the London Marathon on April 23 alongside his 21-year-old daughter, Lexi, a student.

Lexi and Steve are heading to London to run 26.2 miles in support of newly-formed mental health charity, MQ, to raise funds and promote understanding of mental illness and their goal is to raise £5,000.

At present, one in four people in the UK is living with a mental health condition. That’s nearly 15 million people with an illness that affects their wellbeing, their relationships with family and friends, and their ability to work.

MQ is the first major charity funding much-needed scientific research to transform the lives of everyone affected by mental illness.

Lexi and Steve are currently training around Bridgend and will be hosting numerous fundraising activities to be announced soon on their Facebook page ‘Lexi and Steve’s London Marathon’.
