Barry councillor hears of CAB concerns

THE under pressure Citizens Advice office in Barry has told a local councillor of their problems.

Coun Richard Bertin, who represents the town’s Court Ward, heard from Ceri Morgan, assistant manager of the centre, that they are facing cuts from funders, Challenges also faced by the Barry office were increased rent by the council on the building and the general condition of the building.

Another concern was a proposal by the Welsh Government to change the Communities First initiative, which will affect the service CAB provideS.

Coun Bertin said: “ I am concerned about the impact further cuts could have on the service and I will be doing my best to help.”
