By GEM Community Correspondent in Local People

The second Llantwit Major music concert to celebrate local youth talent was held in St Illtud’s Church on Saturday, February 4.

There were in total 12 acts watched by over 150 people. A big thank you goes to all who performed.

They were: Ben Tarlton – Cello; Llantwit Major Comprehensive School; Llanfair Primary School Choir; Lowri Morgan, Christier Boxall and Patrick Sheppard; Nia Paddison-Rees – Harp; Ysgol Y Ddraig Primary School Choir; Rhys Richards and Rhodri Richards; Liam Taylor; Jess Bowen and Leah Elliot; Chris Norton; Nat Peters and James Cousins; Gareth Jones and Caitlin Dolman

The evening was to raise funds for the Mayors chosen charities, The Ed Evans Foundation and the Marie Cure Cancer Care. In total just over £1,000 was raised from tickets, refreshments and a raffle.

Everybody agreed it was an amazing evening with very talented musicians performing in a beautiful setting.

A big thank you must be given to Major Music, who provided all the backing equipment and sound tracks for the evening. Without their hard work and support this event could not happen.

Anyone interested in joining Major Music can contact them on 01446 724000.

Also thanks must be given to Alyson Jones for her organisational skills in bring all the acts together to perform.

Finally, thanks go to to Patrick Shepard, the compere, who kept the audience entertained during the musical interludes.

A great night was enjoyed by all.
