Nantyffyllon pupils visit Westminster

By GEM Staff Reporter in Local People

Nantyfyllon Primary pupils left school books behind and joined Members of Parliament for the day recently at Westminster.

The school visited Ogmore MP Chris Elmore in Parliament and were given a tour of the historic building and were able to ask the MP questions. The school are the first to be welcomed by the relatively new MP to Parliament.

Mr Elmore said: “It was my absolute pleasure to welcome Nantyfyllon Primary to Parliament. They were fantastic! They were engaged and brilliantly behaved. A great example.”

Schools can have a free tour and even claim subsidies for travel costs if they want to visit Parliament and could even incorporate other activities into their London trips. Information can be obtained at Chris Elmore MP’s office.
