Jubilee fever hits!

THERE was so much happening in the local area over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend that it was hard to keep track.
In fact, this week’s GEM has Jubilee events on pages 4, 5, 18, 19 and 20, as local people celebrated Her Majesty’s 60-year reign.
With beacons being lit along the coast from Penarth to Porthcawl, Monday night was a highlight for many people – particularly as Rob Brydon was below his Gavin and Stacey best as compere of the Jubilee concert!
There was, of course, an element of the ‘luck of the draw’ when it came to organising street parties.
Some went ahead in warm sunshine with clear skies, while others had to quickly revert to ‘plan B’ when the rain made an appearance.
The GEM is aware that many events are still to take place, and we expect to have more Jubilee news next week!
